- Update
- ======
- This file contains some small updates to the Twin Otter
- and Mitusbishi MU-2M. Both should have smaller pitch
- attitudes when breaks are applied upon landing. Also,
- the Otter loading bug has been taken care of.
-
- Installation
- ============
- 1. Copy the *.AIR file into the /FLTSIM5/SIM directory.
-
- Notes
- =====
- The DHC-6 Twin Otter flys more like the real thing. It has
- two turboprops that generates 625 shp each. Total maximum
- takeoff weight is 12,500 lbs. That should allow for 1 pilot
- and 14-20 passengers. Maximum cruise speed is about 180 kts
- or 210 mph. This aircraft has excellent STOL capabilities.
- You can land anywhere a smaller Cessna 172/152 can. Takeoff
- distances are short especially using flaps. This is a great
- little plane for short hops into difficult territory. I use
- for short routes at Noble Air.
-
- The Mitsubishi MU-2M Marquise is a twin turboprop aircraft.
- It is used much by the Lifeguard agencies. Each engine
- generates 712 shp each. Total maximum takeoff weight is
- around 11,000 lbs. Maximum cruise speed is about 236 kts or
- 280 mph. Accommodations is for 1 pilot and about 10-16
- passengers. This aircraft is also used as a STOL utility
- plane. Though, the STOL capabilities are not as good as
- the Twin Otter.
-
- Since the Twin Otter is a little more rugged in the SFO hub
- at Noble Air we use it for routes that have short runways at
- high altitudes such as those in Oregon and Washington. The
- Mitsubishi is faster and a little more comfortable so we use
- it for commuter flights within California and Nevada.
-
- !!!!These file have only been tested with FS5.1 CD!!!!
